Head In The Game is a UK registered charity that offers the invaluable opportunity for people in the local community to unite and indulge in the sport they love. These weekly sessions, provided free of charge, cater to anyone between the ages of 18-65, regardless of their ability. Under the guidance of experienced sport and talking therapy coaches, each session is meticulously designed to prioritise mental health and overall wellbeing. By creating a secure and trusted environment, these sessions serve as an outlet for participants to address their mental health concerns. Our sessions serve as a lifeline for many participants, providing invaluable support during their most challenging moments. Within our open, honest, and non-judgmental environment, we offer unwavering support, enabling people to navigate through their darkest times and embrace brighter days ahead.

Story

We all know someone we have lost to suicide.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in aid of Head In The Game, who run mental-wellbeing sports sessions to reduce and prevent suicide.

The biggest killer of men under 50 is suicide, men are three times more likely to complete suicide than women yet only one in three therapy referrals are for men. Loneliness and associated issues with mental and physical health are proven key factors driving those needles deaths. By promoting wellness through sports programmes Head In The Game creates safe social spaces where people can make meaningful connections, get access to additional resources whilst getting fitter at the same time.

The money donated for this walk will go to Head In The Game to help with this vital work.
