Challenge:

We will be attempting to walk the Hadrian's Wall Coast to Coast Path in 3 days, it's a 84 mile (135 Km) long National Trail stretching coast to coast across northern England, from Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne in the east to Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast.

Story:

The Stockport Food Network is a collection of organisations that provide free, emergency or low cost food options for Stockport households and we’ve been exploring ways to help our families cook more efficiently, more healthy and for less money, which inspired this campaign.

Did you know that a slow cooker costs 5p per hour to run, compared to £1.02 for an oven? Did you know that people who access food banks regularly request tinned vegetables because its too expensive to cook fresh ones. Providing households that are facing food poverty with slow cookers would help reduce their monthly energy bills, improve the quality of the food they are eating and provide a sustainable way to improve their way of living.

So that’s the plan! We want to provide slow cookers to as many households as possible, with recipes, ingredient packs and instructions of house to use them.

£7.50 provides an ingredient pack and recipe (Includes 4 meals)

£30 provides a slow cooker

£50 provides a slow cooker, 4 ingredient packs and a recipe book (includes 16 meals)
