Story
Nearly 400k people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK each year, so the odds are high that you know someone who has been diagnosed or you've been unfortunate enough to have had a diagnosis yourself, or maybe both. Having had cancer twice and having lost loved ones to cancer I have personally felt these diseases seem particularly cruel. It seems mad to me that with all the medical innovations that have happened throughout history a type of disease that has been known about for nearly 4 thousand years and is treatable in lots of cases can still kill so many people. I know that when I was diagnosed the first time being able to talk to a nurse at the MacMillan centre at the hospital gave me the reassurance I needed to get on with treatment and tell people what was going on. We can definitely do more to fight these diseases and support those who are effected by them and that is why I want to raise money for the supremely worthwhile MacMillan, it would be amazing if you'd help me to help them help more people!
