Story
Thanks for visiting. To give you a bit of background on what I'm doing and why, I started running properly around six months ago, initially completing the Couch to 5k programme before taking part in Tewkesbury 10k. I've loved it. Having been inspired by participating in and watching events, as well as pleasantly surprised by my own progress, I've decided to take on my next big challenge, the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London.
In signing up and researching different charities to support, Children's Book Project stood out to me. Its mission is to ensure that all children have the opportunity to own their own books; it strives to achieve that through donations and events nationwide. Around one million children in the UK don't currently own a book.
Children's books have been very present in my life of late. My 2-and-a-half-year-old son has always loved books, they have been a really important part of for our development, bonding and confidence as a family. A couple of close friends have also recently published the first of their "Tiny Hercules" series, and I've heard a lot of stories from them on the impact that reading has on children at the schools they've visited.
Your help and support in reaching this goal, whether that be physical, mental, or via a donation, is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
