Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A good friend of mine has first hand experience of the wonderful service that Little Hiccups provide, so I wanted to fundraise for them to show our gratitude and to help other families in their time of need. Whether that be guidance, support through counselling, activity days, therapy or respite for parents, Little Hiccups are invaluable to so many families.
I am running the Great North Run in September and then completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in order to raise vital funds for this great charity. Here is my inspiration from Jonathan and Lucy:
After receiving our daughter's diagnosis that she might never walk or talk due to left sided brain damage acquired at birth, we were completely numb. After some research we came across a small local children's charity called Little Hiccups, who welcomed us with open arms. They provided us a safe space to talk, they allowed us to meet other families in the same position and supported us emotionally through the more difficult times. With the help of Little Hiccups our daughter, Primrose, has had access to hydrotherapy with a physio, which has increased her muscle range. They also offer families a wealth of knowledge by providing inclusive free courses to ensure parents and carers are confident to meet their child's needs at home and throughout their lives. We are proud to be a part of the Little Hiccups family and will be truly grateful for all they have and continue to do for us and our courageous daughter, Primrose.
