Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025 · 12 October 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Hi, I’m Chris and I’m proud to be raising money for Dementia UK, a charity that provides life-changing support to families affected by dementia. Their team of specialist dementia nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, offer expert guidance and compassionate care to help people living with dementia and their loved ones navigate the toughest challenges.
My sister, Amy, and I are together taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 12th October 2025, to raise both awareness and funds.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart and means a great deal to me personally. I’ve seen first-hand how vital the right support can be. I lost my Grandpa on my father’s side to Alzheimer’s last October, and now this journey is also in honour of my Grandad on my mother’s side who is currently struggling with dementia. Watching dementia slowly take away the people you love is heartbreaking — not just for them, but for everyone around them.
I want to make a real difference and this is why I’ve set myself a challenge of running a half marathon, even though I’ve never run before. It’s a big step outside my comfort zone, but it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by those living with dementia and their families.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Dementia UK continue to provide specialist care to those who need it most.
Please sponsor me and help support families going through the toughest of times.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
From Dementia UK:
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
