Tackling MND One Try at a Time – In Memory of Christine Shorter
Hi, I’m Chris Shorter, and on the 27th of September, we’re hosting a T1 Rugby Tournament at GRFC in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation—a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.
This event is in loving memory of my Nan, Christine Shorter, who tragically passed away from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) at just 42 years old—two years before I was born. I never got the chance to meet her, and that’s something MND took from me, as it has from so many others.
At GRFC, we’re connecting rugby and the fight against MND, showing that together, we can make a difference—one try at a time. Our goal is to raise as much as possible to help fund research, support families, and ultimately, bring us closer to a world free of MND.
I’m doing this so that more grandchildren can grow up knowing their grandparents—without MND stealing those precious moments.
Please give what you can. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to that goal.
Thank you for your support,
Chris Shorter
