Story
Hey there, I'm Chris, a dad of two. I decided that I needed a goal to aim for, so I applied for the Chester Marathon 2025, and Liverpool Half Marathon 2026, for Alder Hey Children's Hospital. As well as these races I have since signed up for the Isle of Man Parish Walk 2025 and the Isle of Man Ramsey Half Marathon 2025. I also hope to do the London Marathon 2026 if I get a space.
I've been running on and off for years, but always struggled with injuries and finding the time between work and family to get out and train.
Thanks to the incredible charity, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, I’ve been given a truly special opportunity to take part in a series of races. I’m deeply grateful for this chance and want to use it to give back to express my heartfelt thanks for the amazing work Alder Hey does every day.
This cause is very personal to me. When our daughter was just six months old, she underwent neurosurgery at Alder Hey for a craniofacial condition. It was a daunting time, but the care we received was exceptional. The neurosurgery team was nothing short of extraordinary, and thanks to them, her operation was a success. She’s now a happy, healthy 10-year-old and we owe so much to Alder Hey.
Now it’s my turn to give back. I’ve pledged to raise £250 for each race I run, with all proceeds going directly to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. These funds will support vital research, innovative treatments, and life-changing support programs for children and young people.
I’d be truly grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter how small, will help make a real difference in the lives of the children and families who rely on Alder Hey.
