Chris's fundraiser for Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire

Chris Spooner is raising money for Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire

Kelpies Climb

We are there for parents when they need us most, because childhood can’t wait. Supporting families through Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire, we work with families who are going through a rough time by working alongside families through home-visiting volunteers and family support groups.

Story

I’m taking to the skies to celebrate a very special anniversary!

To mark 25 years of Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire, I am taking on the "Kelpies Aerial Climb"—scaling 25 metres to the top of Scotland’s most iconic sculptures. It’s a big height for an even bigger cause.

🧗🏼‍♂️Why I’m Climbing 🧗🏼‍♂️

Raising a child is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world, but it is also one of the hardest. For many families in our community, that challenge is compounded by circumstances beyond their control.

Home-Start is there for families with young children when life gets heavy. They recognise that many parents are navigating the stresses of ill health, isolation, disrupted relationships, poor & insecure housing, financial insecurity, trauma, abuse and loss.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing a parent needs isn't a "fix"—it’s simply someone to talk to, someone to be there, and someone to truly hear them.

💷 How Your Donation Helps 💷

Home-Start doesn't just provide a service; they build a community. By training and supporting Peer Volunteers, they connect with families right where they are—on their own terms and for as long as it takes.

Your support helps build the confidence and relationships necessary to ensure that every child in Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire gets the best possible start in life.

🎉 Join the Celebration 🎉

25 years of support is an incredible legacy, but the need is greater than ever. Whether you can spare the price of a coffee or something more, every penny raised as I climb these 25 metres will go directly toward helping local families find their footing.

Thank you for helping me reach the top—and for helping our community’s families thrive!
