Run Norwich 2024 · 8 September 2024

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

This September, I’m doubling up and taking on two 10k races - I’ll be taking part in my third Run Norwich 10km race and my second Run Sandringham 10k , both in aid of Parkinson’s UK

Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. This means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time.

People with Parkinson's don't have enough of the chemical dopamine in their brain because some of the nerve cells that make it have stopped working.

Around 153,000 people live with Parkinson’s in the UK - well known public figures like Billy Connolly, Bob Hoskins and Jeremy Paxman as well as much more personally to me , my own dear Mum ❤️.

Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world and I want to do my bit to help those developing treatments and working towards a cure.

Running a combined 20km round the streets of Norwich and the rolling parkland of Sandringham is a small struggle compared to those dealing with Parkinson’s but I hope it’s an effort worth supporting with a small donation.

Many thanks

Chris
