EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

🏃‍♂️ Edinburgh Marathon 2026 – Running for Headway 🧠

In 2026, I’ll be taking on the incredible challenge of running the Edinburgh Marathon – and I’m doing it for a cause that’s deeply personal to me.

In 2012, I suffered a frontal lobe brain injury, a life-changing event that impacted not only my health but also every aspect of my life. Recovery hasn’t been easy, but along the way, I’ve been supported by an amazing charity: Headway.

Headway is a UK-wide charity that supports people affected by brain injury – whether that’s survivors themselves, their families, or carers. They provide vital services such as:

• Emotional and practical support for survivors

• Rehabilitation guidance

• Advocacy and legal advice

• Local support groups and helplines

• Resources to help people adjust to life after injury

Their work is absolutely crucial – brain injuries can turn someone’s world upside down in an instant, and without the right support, it can be incredibly isolating.

That’s why I’m running to raise funds and awareness for this incredible organisation – to give something back and to help ensure that others going through similar journeys aren’t alone.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me – and to many others who benefit from Headway’s support every day.

Thank you so much for your support 🙏

Let’s do this – one step at a time 💙
