I've decided to take on a challenge that means a huge amount to me: I’m running a half marathon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, in memory of my wonderful Grandma.

Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease that affects so many families, and sadly, it has touched mine too. Losing my Grandma and seeing the impact Alzheimer’s had on our family is something I’ll always carry with me.

So, I’m putting myself through 13.1 miles — the training, the early mornings, the aching legs and, no doubt, plenty of moments where I’ll question why I signed up for this! 😂 — all for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

I’m hoping to raise as much money as possible for Alzheimer’s Research UK, helping fund vital research into understanding dementia, improving treatments and ultimately finding a way to stop this devastating disease.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to me and my family. It will give me even more motivation when the training gets tough and the finish line feels a long way away.

I’m running this one for Grandma and for anyone else who has been affected by Alzheimer’s — to remember her, to celebrate her life, and to help support a future where fewer families have to experience what ours did.
