In May 2027, I'm taking on 270km of hills, determination and probably a fair amount of pain, all for something far bigger than a bike ride. From 20–22 May, I'll be joining 70 riders from across the pub and hospitality industry for Pedalling To Pubs 2027, tackling the breathtaking but unforgiving hills of the Peak District. There will be aching legs, steep climbs and moments when giving up might seem tempting. But every hill we conquer and every kilometre we ride will be driven by something much more important: the chance to change someone's life.

The hospitality industry is built on people. People who welcome us, look after us, bring communities together and make our pubs such special places. But behind the smiles, too many are facing incredibly difficult circumstances, poverty, homelessness, financial hardship and personal crises. These are the people who have spent their lives looking after others. Now it's our turn to look after them.

That's why I'm riding to support two extraordinary charities: the Licensed Trade Charity and Only A Pavement Away.

Together, they offer far more than practical assistance. They provide a lifeline when times are toughest, restore hope when it feels lost, and help people rebuild their confidence, independence and futures.

My personal fundraising target is £1,500, and I'd love your help to reach it. Every donation, however big or small, will make those long climbs feel a little easier, knowing that the effort is helping someone facing a much greater challenge.

Because ultimately, this isn't about how far we cycle. It's about how far we can help someone else go.
