Story
This August 3rd, 2025, I will be participating together with a team leader from The Halo Trust in a personal trek up Kilimanjaro. The goal is simple: raise £5,895 (the summit altitude) for this incredible organization, which works tirelessly for those affected by conflict. I invite you to join me in this journey—your support directly can help change lives and contribute towards a future where families can thrive in peace.
For over 35 years, The HALO Trust’s mission has been to protect lives and restore the livelihoods of those affected by conflict. They work in over 30 countries and territories, playing a critical role in ensuring post-conflict recovery and long-term stability. They work with national governments and local communities, employing over 11,000 people, empowering women and men to make their countries safe so families can rebuild their lives. Their work contributes to the rehabilitation and stability of fractured communities.
HALO’s work has expanded beyond landmines to encompass two other strands: the control of small arms and other weapons; and the clearance of bombs, rockets and missiles, often from urban areas. We magnify our impact by working with local people and partners to put communities back on their feet. They do this by restoring livelihoods, empowering women, regenerating the environment, returning land to productive use, ensuring safe access to education and enabling displaced people to return to cleared towns and villages.
