West Highland Way Walk · 15 May 2023

We’re a local, independent charity that's here to support older people and their families in Milton Keynes. Each year we help over 6,500 older people to stay active, connected, independent, and out of hospital. Your support is vital in helping us champion & improve later life across our community.

Story

Chris Kingsford is a Trustee for Age UK Milton Keynes. Wanting to find a way to support the charity, Chris has bravely decided to do a charity hike on part of the West Highland Way. Originally launched in 1980, the West Highland Way route was the first ever designated long-distance trail in Scotland. With the mix of lowland beauty and dramatic scenery, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful hikes in the entire world.

Chris and his companions will be walking from Crianlarich to Fort William over four days in May – a distance of 48 miles. With elevations over 500m, carrying a full backpack and camping along the way, this will indeed be a beautiful, but tough, hike.

Age UK Milton Keynes is a local independent charity supporting the older people of Milton Keynes. With the effects of the pandemic still being felt, the services offered by the charity are even more needed now - befriending, independent living services, digital inclusion to name but a few.

Please support Chris on his hike by giving what you can.
