Story
I’m taking on the Sheffield 10K to raise money for the Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme, a charity doing some fantastic work across our local community.
Their work goes far beyond football, supporting children, young people, families and adults across Sheffield through projects that improve health, wellbeing, confidence and opportunities. They help bring people together, give young people positive opportunities and make a real difference to people’s lives.
This is a cause that feels particularly personal to me. My son Harlen plays for Stocksbridge Park Steels Juniors, who have strong links with Sheffield Wednesday’s Community Programme. Through Harlen’s football, I’ve seen just how important clubs and community programmes can be — not just for developing footballers, but for giving children a place to belong, make friends, build confidence and create memories.
That connection is a big part of why I wanted to support the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme, but ultimately it’s the work they do throughout Sheffield that made me want to take on this challenge.
So I’m putting myself through 10K of running and hoping to raise as much money as possible for a brilliant local cause.
If you can donate anything at all, no matter how small, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every pound raised will help support the work they do in our communities and help give more people the opportunities that football and community programmes can provide.
Thank you so much for your support — it genuinely means a lot. 💙🤍
