Liverpool Half Marathon 2026 · 15 March 2026 ·

We go the extra mile to complement NHS services across Lancashire and South Cumbria. With your help we can support recovery, reduce stigma around mental health, and enhance wellbeing across our communities by creating healing environments, championing health and wellbeing and supporting innovation.

Story

As Chief Executive of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, I have the privilege of seeing every day the incredible impact our teams make across mental health, learning disability, autism and physical health community services. I also see how much more we can do when our charity is able to help us go that little bit further for service users, their families and our colleagues.

Last summer, I started running for the first time. What began as a way to keep fit quickly turned into something I genuinely enjoyed, even if I still question that on the tougher runs. I’ve managed to complete a 10K race, and I’ve set myself the longer-term ambition of one day running a full marathon. But before that…I thought I’d better tackle a half marathon first!

On 15 March 2026, I’ll be taking on the Liverpool Half Marathon, raising funds for our brilliant Charity; Hope and Mind at LSCFT which supports the meaningful extras that make a huge difference to people’s lives, from wellbeing spaces and therapeutic activities to community projects and support for our colleagues.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it genuinely will make a difference. And if you can’t donate, a share, a message of support, or even a bit of encouragement for the training miles would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you for supporting me and for supporting the people and communities we serve across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Chris
