Story
Becky, myself and our family taking part in The Myton Hospices Walk for Myton to help raise £45,000! Please sponsor us.
We are raising money in remembrance of my lovely Mum who passed away peacefully while listening to Black Velvet Band on 23rd March 2025 in Myton Hospice surrounded by her family.
She was such a strong and brave lady who battled long and hard throughout her life. She went against the odds and fought through every challenge that was thrown at her. Even exceeding several life expectances, she continued to surprise everyone when she bounced back! Even to our surprise when she was back cooking in the kitchen!
She never moaned or wanted people to feel sorry for her, she would rather make a joke of it all or laugh it off. Or draw us the odd picture (she thought heself of quite the artist)! She was always singing, listening to Motown and made the most amazing Sunday dinners, which would turn from only a few people to a whole crowd, but that's how she liked it. She never always knew how funny she could be, and often went along with it or laughing with us.
She was incredibly maternal and would almost adopt all who walked through her front door! She would always greet you with a smile, a laugh and always make sure you'd been fed. And if not would offer everything she had to make sure you were well looked after.
We wanted to give thanks to Myton Hospice for providing incredible care towards the end of her life. They made her comfortable and out of pain, alongside her trusty glass of Processco. They met all of her wishes and allowed us all to say goodbye.
We know that this is a lot of money to raise, and times are hard, but with your support we are confident that we can achieve it! So please give what you can and help us to raise money, not only in rememberance of our Mum but for the past and future treatment of others who have or are currently in Myton Hospice.
They provide dedicated care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families, in their inpatient beds and in the community which continues to be their primary focus, and they need to raise £12.7 million this year to do this.
They can't do it without the support of people like me and you!
