Open Doors Choose to Lose Challenge 2023

Choose to Lose Challenge 2023
Campaign by Open Doors (RCN 1125684)
Choose to Lose something you love to raise money and prayer for young Christians around the world who, in choosing Jesus, have lost nearly everything.

Story

We as ChristChurch Youth ar choosing to lose something we love for a short time to help raise money and awareness for Christians who have lost everything because of their faith in Jesus.

Saser* (18) and Mihea* (22) from Laos had recently chosen to follow Jesus when their Christian faith was discovered. In the space of an afternoon, they lost their home and safety. People they used to call neighbours, along with the police, questioned and beat them. They were told to sign documents saying they would stop being Christian and return to the local tribal religion. But they refused.

Eventually the villagers pushed them out of their house and evicted them from the area. The message was clear: if you choose Jesus, you're no longer safe here.

Please sponsor us as we give up something we love to help raise money for essential aid, support and help for young Christians like Saser and Mihea.

*Names changed for security reasons...

Here are the things we have chosen to lose, for six weeks, to raise this money:

Anna - Sweets, Chocolate and fizzy drinks

Alaw - Soft drinks

Sion - Frozen desserts

Dafydd - Chocolate

Bethany - Savoury and salty snacks, e.g pringles, crisps

Micah - Access to computer games / consoles

Rhianna - Access to her bank account / not spend any money

Hanna - Savoury and sweet snacks

Sam - Time on electronic devices

We are aiming for £420 as this can provide six months of protection, care and education for a young Christian in Columbia.

Thank you!
