On 24 April 2027, I’ll be taking on a Backyard Ultra, aiming to run 100 miles in support of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

A Backyard Ultra is an endurance event where runners complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour, on the hour, for as long as they can. To reach my goal of 100 miles, I’ll need to complete 24 loops over the course of around 24 hours.

I’m taking on this challenge following my family’s experience with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The support my niece and our family received highlighted just how important these services are and the positive difference dedicated healthcare professionals can make during difficult times.

This fundraiser is my way of recognising the incredible work carried out by Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and giving something back following our family’s experience.
