This April I will be running 5 marathons in 4 weeks (one each weekend of April) to raise money for Samaritans in memory of my Nana who passed away in October.
Samaritans is a brilliant charity that provides a place to turn to for those struggling with their mental health. My Nana volunteered for the Samaritans as a trained “Listener” on their helpline for about 4 years, to help those suffering with their mental health, following her husband’s suicide in 1979. She did this to try to help those who were experiencing similar mental health difficulties to her husband – a demonstration of her selflessness that was core to her life.
Samaritans is an amazing charity that provides support to those in mentally vulnerable situations, with a 24hr telephone helpline that is free to call and drop-in service at the core of the organisation. They provide a telephone helpline, along with support services, to anyone and everyone struggling with their mental health – helping those who need someone to listen without judgement or pressure.
To raise money for this fantastic charity I will be completing 5 marathons in 4 weeks (one each weekend of April):
- Sunday 2nd April – Paris Marathon
- Saturday 8th April – Cambridge (joining Josh Patterson on his Run41million challenge to raise money for Samaritans)
- Monday 17th April – Boston Marathon
- Sunday 23rd April – London Marathon
- Sunday 30th April – London (Hyde Park)
