Running 40 miles to help beat cancer

Giant's Causeway Ultramarathon, Ireland · 14 September 2024
Cancer remains a scourge that impacts millions of people, but recently two of my closest pals have seen cancer blight their lives. Words seem pretty hollow in these situations so I decided to try and raise a few quid by taking on a 40 mile ultramarathon along the challenging Northern Irish coastline on 14th September.
Throw in a cheeky 4000ft of elevation (and the fact that I'm an old b*stard and carrying a bit of timber)...I can’t say I’m looking forward to it but then nothing worthwhile is ever easy.
I am raising money for two great causes:
Cancer Research UK: donations on this page here
Coppafeel: - Coppafeel: an amazing UK charity raising awareness of breast cancer in young women. Justgiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/christian-nagele-1722324714296
So all donations gratefully received. All monies raised will be matched by my (very supportive) employer, so please dig deep.
I have also managed to rope in 24 colleagues, who will be running everything from 10k, half marathons, marathons and a couple of young's have also opted for the 40 miler!
