Road Victims Trust support of road victims is provided by a team of highly skilled counselling volunteers and staff. The principles and ethos of the RVT reflect a primary and compelling aspiration to provide personal support to all those affected by the trauma caused by serious road collisions.

Story

On the 9th March 1996, my father, Shaun Brown, was tragically killed in a road accident. He went out for a drive on his motorcycle in his new leathers that he had just bought recently. Driving along the road, a car pulled out of a petrol station and ended up clipping the motorbike, which caused my dad to come off. He died almost instantly from the impact.

My dad was a caring and gentle man whom everyone around him loved. Growing up with no father or support from his passing was hard on my siblings ( 2 younger brothers) and family. It sent my nan into very early retirement, as you can imagine it was very hard for her to lose her son, and also the family to lose such a great man.

I love hearing the stories from my family about what he was like and funny stories about him. The memory of him will always live on, that's why I have decided to run for Road Victims Trust Charity to help families affected by road incidents. The charity is very close to my heart as they are dedicated to supporting people who have been affected by the grief and trauma of road death and serious injury collisions. I want to raise as much as I can for Road Victims Trust so they can continue the wonderful work they do and the support they give.

By doing this throughout the rest of this year and next year, I will be doing a number of events to raise money, starting with Ben Nevis mountain in Scotland in 2 weeks. I will then go on to doing a 5k run in October, a 10k run in November, half a half-marathon in January, then onto the Brighton full marathon on the 12th April 2026( main event ). I will also again complete Mount Snowdon in Wales and Mount Scafell Pike in the Lake District.

Please follow me on this incredible journey, and if you can make any amount of donation towards this Charity, it will be much appreciated. The work they do is just amazing and will help a lot of people and raise awareness. I will load pictures of myself completing each event.
