22nd December this year would have been my sisters 50th birthday, unfortunately she wont be here to celebrate with her Children or family and friends as she was cruelly taken from us in February 2017.

Life and emotions have been up and down over the last 6 years, I found there isn't enough knowledge or support for families and friends that have to go through the most painful grief of losing a loved one at the hands of someone else.

I finally found support last December 2022 with the organisation SAMM, who are run by volunteers, they offer support for all people that have been effected by murder or manslaughter. This can be through a telephone befriending service, pop up coffee zoom meetings, and retreats.

I will be attending one of the retreats in November this year, all costs for the retreat is fully paid for by SAMM, I have already benefited from having someone to talk too, I feel the retreat will help me learn how to deal with my emotions around significant dates, and because of all the their help I would like to give back to the organisation.

Everyone who knows me, knows I like a drink or two of wine! so I thought I would abstain for 50 days 2nd November until 22nd December 2023, in recognition of her 50th Birthday and hopefully give back to an amazing charity at the same time!
