Christina's fundraiser for Stray Cat Rescue

Christina Lawrence is raising money for Stray Cat Rescue

4 Marathons in 4 Days · 5 February 2026

We are a small charity, entirely run by volunteers, based in South Bedfordshire. We have a shelter and a network of foster carers. We never put a cat down unless in extreme illness with veterinary advice. Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome stray and abandoned cats.

Story

This February, I’ll be taking on one of my toughest challenges yet: 4 marathons in 4 days — all to raise money for a charity that means the world to me: Stray Cat Rescue. 🐾

If you know me, you’ll know I’m completely obsessed with cats, and this year especially, Stray Cat Rescue has been a huge part of my life. I volunteer with them regularly, and it’s impossible to put into words just how much love and care they pour into every single cat that comes through their doors. They give vulnerable, frightened, abandoned and unwanted cats the second chance they deserve — and I’ve seen that magic first-hand.

Recently, the rescue took in a little kitten called Sean, who arrived with his sister after being trapped as strays. The lovely woman who brought them in suspected something wasn’t right with his back leg, and after further checks in foster care, an X-ray revealed the real issue: Sean has a luxating patella. At only around five months old, he’s facing a painful future without intervention.

To give him the best possible life, the rescue has chosen specialist surgery to save his leg rather than amputate it. This will involve repositioning his kneecap and securing it with a plate, followed by a second operation once he’s fully grown. The total cost is around £2,800, and while the rescue will always find a way to make sure their cats get the care they need, raising these funds would make a huge difference — not just for Sean, but for all the other cats who rely on their support. I'd like to try and help raise at least half the cost of his surgery with my running challenge, and that's where you guys come in!

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it will mean the world to me — and to little Sean who so desperately needs our help. Knowing that there are some donations coming in will also make sure my training stays on track and that I manage to cross that finish line (4 times!) 💙🐱

Thank you so much for supporting me and Stray Cat Rescue. Let’s do this! 🏃‍♀️✨
