2/10/2025 Oct 2025 01/10/2025 IMPORTANT UPDATE Following a fall whilst out training for a 17 mile run , I broke my wrist on 8th September and had wrist surgery on 23rd September, so I am now not able to run the Florence marathon . HOWEVER ..... GOD ..... Our son and daughter in law, JOE and ANNABELLE TAYLOR , who will be running the Florence marathon are going to run for The Meeting Room on 30th November , so please donate if you can to show your support !
I have long had links with The Meeting Room and have been volunteering at one of their drop ins for nearly a year . It is a privilege to be a part of the community that is The Meeting Room where staff work very effectively to ensure a respectful caring environment where people can come for company , -and a delicious lunch in 3 different venues each week . The clients are so kind and helpful to one another . Staff are also on hand to help with negotiating housing / financial needs as well as support people with medical issues where appropriate .
Fund raising for this community will enable the organisation to meet particular needs of some clients as well as facilitating some simple outings for the group , who otherwise would not have such opportunities .
I am honoured to be running the Florence Marathon on 30 November 2025 to support these amazing people.
