Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. I am fundraising for the "Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK" as I prepare to participate in the adidas Manchester Marathon on April 19, 2026.

As a support worker for five years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals affected by Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). Mainly a young girl called Sophie. This rare genetic disorder presents numerous challenges, not only for those who live with it but also for their families. PWS is often misunderstood and under-recognized, making the work of this charity crucial in providing support and resources to those in need.

PWS affects approximately 1 in 22,000 births and leads to a range of difficulties including low muscle tone, developmental delays, and an insatiable appetite that can result in life-threatening obesity if not managed properly. The emotional and social challenges faced by individuals with PWS can lead to significant struggles throughout their lives.

By raising funds through my marathon efforts, I aim to contribute to the vital work of the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK. My target is to raise £1,000 to help ensure that families receive the support they deserve.

I invite you to join me on this journey—every donation counts and will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by PWS. Please take a moment to learn more about this condition and consider supporting our cause.
