This year`s marathon will be by far the most important one for me as I am fund-raising for the high-dependency unit at the RVI in Newcastle upon Tyne where my son , Adam, was hospitalized for 4 months following a serious motor-bike accident in June 2024.

At the end of September, Adam was transferred to the Spinal unit in Middlesbrough where he remained until the end of January 25. He received excellent care and rehabilitation here. Thankfully his body started to show small signs of recovery and he is continuing to make progress. Today he can walk short distances with the aid of crutches.
