🚶‍♀️👣 We're Walking for a Cause! 👣🚶‍♂️

We are members of the MS Imaging Group at the University of Edinburgh, and this year we’re lacing up our walking boots for the Edinburgh Kiltwalk on September 14 to support the amazing Anne Rowling Clinic!

We'll be taking on the Big Stroll – an 11-mile walk filled with fun and team spirit. 🏴

🧠💙 Why We're Walking 💙🧠

We’re proud to be supporting the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, a fantastic centre dedicated to vital research and clinical trials for people with neurodegenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis (MS), motor neuron disease, Parkinson’s and cognitive disorders (conditions that affect memory, thinking, and understanding). The Clinic’s Scotland-wide studies offer people living with neurodegenerative conditions the opportunity to participate in research that drives future innovations. It provides a welcoming environment to ensure those attending NHS outpatient clinics and research appointments feel comfortable. Founded by J.K. Rowling, the Clinic has charitable status through the University of Edinburgh Development Trust.

This year, we’re fundraising to buy some important equipment to support research at the Clinic, namely activity monitors (activPAL) that track steps, time spent sitting, and how often someone goes from sitting to standing. These will be used in a study that looks at walking patterns, as well as in future projects. We’re also raising funds for eye test charts and hand dexterity (9-hole peg) tests to help researchers better track MS symptoms and progression.

Together, we are working to better understand MS and improve the lives of those affected by it. 🌟

Every step we take in this journey helps to fund crucial research that brings us closer to understanding and better treating MS. Your support makes a meaningful difference, and we’re grateful to have you with us.

Thank you for your generosity and support!
