Story
Well, it's only 4 Weeks until the big day (28th April 2024) training has been going well and have been training in all the rain. Now gone from 3.5 miles and now up to 5 miles. Please help me to support The Chestnut Appeal.
This year I have decided to run the Plymouth 10k, because my stepdad passed away in September 2023 of bowel cancer. The Chestnut Appeal are a South West Charity promoting the importance of men's health in prostate cancer and many others. A few of our closest male friends have also suffered some health issues and if it wasn't for this charity they might not have seen a doctor.
This is my way of raising funds and supporting this fantastic charity, supports both men young and old. I have also been through some tough times suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2018. The support from my friends and family helped so much in my recovery from a brain haemorrhage.
Raising awareness is at the heart of everything we do, as well as this, with funds raised by YOU, we support our hospitals by purchasing the latest equipment and treatments for the region.
We have a unique geography, so our work is often unique, to help more men than ever, we’re also building an online community, reaching more men in the community who need help and support during and after their cancer treatments.
We want men and their families to know we’re here for as long as you need us!
