Story
I’ve decided to do a fundraiser for the Heulwen Day Unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd’s Cancer Centre where my Mum received daily chemotherapy and radiotherapy over 5 weeks.
The diagnosis of oesophageal cancer came as a devastating shock in June 2025. It’s a reminder that life can change in an instant, turning everything upside down. After an unsuccessful round of chemotherapy at Ysbyty Gwynedd and surgery not being an option at Wrexham Maelor we were fortunate to be transferred to the exceptional care of the cancer unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
The support and compassion shown by the staff have been nothing short of outstanding. They have not only treated my Mum with professionalism but have also embraced our family with warmth and understanding during this challenging time.
In light of this incredible care, I feel compelled to give them something back. I am participating in a personal walk on September 5, 2026, to raise funds for this vital unit. Your support can help ensure that others receive the same level of care and compassion that we have experienced.
Please consider donating to this cause; every contribution makes a difference and helps us express our gratitude for the remarkable work being done at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd’s North Wales Cancer Centre.
