Story
I am doing a Wing Walk on 7th August 2026 to celebrate being 90 and three quarters and to raise money for Marie Curie - a superb charity dealing with end of life care.
Some of my friends have called on their help & expertise & it has been extraordinary to see the difference the charity has made in challenging times.
Since my husband died, I have raised money every year for causes which are close to my heart. Now in my 9th decade, I feel I should push the boat out - or perhaps that should say, aim for the sky.
With the help of advice from Katie, a member of staff at Wixams Retirement Village where I live, I feel strong enough to climb up onto the top of a bi-plane where I will be strapped onto an Aframe and zoomed off into the blue yonder for a 15 - 20minute rearrangement of my facial features. I’m imagining a kind of Wallace & Gromit affair.
And this is what I am doing it for -
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end of life charity. We care when there’s no cure, whatever the illness. Day or night, we’ll ease your pain, protect your dignity and support the people you love - putting you first.
Please give all you can manage.
