At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Mum died on 19 June. A major contributor to her death was her dementia. Everyone's dementia is their own, mum's was quite cruel. It took away her memories, motor skills, social skills, ability to wash and dress herself, ability to feed and drink by herself and gave her paranoia, anxiety, anger and a fear of being left. Dementia made a full time carer of dad but he did it willingly and wouldn't have had it any other way.

Funding Is desperately needed to find treatments and maybe one day a cure for this desperate disease, to highlight how dementia impacts families and loved ones and, while this is happening, to make care in the home something that anyone can access easily and without fuss.

Please give to try and make this happen in memory of our mum

Thank you
