We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Story

This will be the 3rd year we have decorated our home at Christmas to not only bring a smile to people’s faces when they drive or walk past but to also help support and raise awareness of a charity that is so close to our family hearts. Over the past 2 years we have raised £3647.53.

As a family we chose to support Sands as this is a charity that we would normally support through other people’s fundraising as they were there for my family in 2011 when my brother was stillborn at 42 weeks. It is also a charity that is not heard of much as it offers support to families that have suffered a loss of a young child which is something most people find hard to talk about.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy our display for 2023, where we have added new props, with different themes and an increase to the number of bulbs. Last year, there is approximately 28,000 bulbs for the display.

Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

We depend on the amazing energies of our supporters to raise the vital funds that we need to deliver the wide range of services that we offer. #TeamSands
