Story
Join me on this year's 'Stir up Sunday' and make a Christmas pudding whilst raising vital funds for the NSPCC.
Stir Up Sunday is a tradition that dates back to Victorian times where families would come together to get their fruit puddings stirred up, steamed and stored ahead of Christmas. Each member of the family would take a turn to give all the ingredients a good mix and often, a special lucky sixpence would be hidden in the mix. Whoever found the sixpence in their pudding on Christmas Day was said to enjoy wealth and good luck in the year to come.
The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. We help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.
Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse
That’s why we’re here. That's what drives all our work. And that’s why – as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood.
