Story
I really struggled with my conscience for a very short while before sending this email. Generally, I deplore them! But having donated to so many appeals in the past I thought it behove me to give you all an opportunity to contribute to my once- in- a- lifetime fund raising trek- you would be welcome to join me!
Following my wife's diagnosis with Alzheimer's disease in 2017, I have seen how it affects the lives of sufferers and their families and I would like to raise funds to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
As you will all know, I do like a gentle walk....usually to the pub. When I came across this challenge, I decided why the hell not and what could possibly go wrong??!
The walk will take place on Saturday 7th June. It is 13 miles walking along the Jurassic coastline. Hopefully the sun will shine but I am told it is NOT just a pleasant coastal stroll but quite a tough hike!...(Not for the faint hearted are the actual words used by the society!)
I am being supported by my good friend Philip Snook and I would be grateful for any contribution you could make to help me raise as much as I can. I do hope you will be able to find it in your bank account, to help me support this cause that is so close to my heart. This will be my first and last appeal so please help me to raise as much as possible, and in view of the tax relief of up to 45% if you tell your accountant to claim it in your tax return. Happy to advise pro bono!
All the best , At least I hope it has raised a smile and thanks for reading this far!
Chris
