Story
I turned 70 this year and decided to take on a personal challenge that combines my love of football and cycling - I am cycling to all 92 Premier League and EFL football clubs to raise money for RoadPeace, the national charity for road crash victims.
We lost our own nephew in a hit and run crash in November 2014.
Every mile I pedal is in memory of lives lost and in support of those left behind. RoadPeace does incredible work providing emotional support, practical help, and campaigning for safer roads.
Please support me if you can – whether it’s £2 or £20, every donation fuels my journey and helps this vital cause
RoadPeace are the national charity for road crash victims. They provide vital emotional support and help navigating the justice system, to anyone over the age of 18, who has been bereaved or seriously injured through a road crash.
The charity run a national helpline, regional and national peer support groups, a Resilience Building Programme, befriender service and organise vital Services of Remembrance.
They also provide casework and advocacy services, accompanying families and victims to meetings with the police, Crown Prosecution Service, and at court.
Road death and injury is sudden, unexpected, traumatic and isolating - those who experience this need specialist support and help - their lives change in the blink of an eye with no warning.
RoadPeace have an extremely small staff team, and minimal funding - they are hugely reliant on the goodwill of volunteers, and the amazing efforts of fundraisers, to enable them to continue to deliver their life-saving services.
