I’m so excited and privileged to have been selected to run the Great South Run thanks to parkrun UK!

As you know I absolutely love parkrun and without failure I’ll be there every Saturday morning volunteering, Barrier Directing and off course running especially at my home ground “Maidstone Riverpark parkrun”! 🤣🤣.- i love a bit of Tourisminging too! I also like to trim a bush or two on that towpath to keep it going for all the runners!

parkrun has done so much for me over the years both from a physical perspective but also mental health wise and I just want to keep giving back.

I did my first ever parkrun on 27/7/2013 and in the last 12 years and approaching my 500th it has helped me to progress from 5km right up to marathon distances and beyond. It also also lead to me making some fantastic friends and the formation of Kents Premium Pork based running club…. The Bacon Butty Brigade 🐽 🏃🏽‍♂️ (you know by Boots near that Kebab shop)!

parkrun’s core mission is to keep its events events free for everyone, forever!

parkrun Global Limited is a charity than enables over 2,700 events to take place each week around the world and has a life changing impact to millions of lives.

Every week, over 45,000 people volunteer all over the world at their local parkrun.

11 million are registered for parkrun globally.

On average its costs about £83 to run each event which is an absolute bargain for what it does but it does this through donations and charity monies.

So my call to you is to that if you think parkrun has helped you or your family in some way consider making a donation via my page and help me with my target!

Researchers have shown that a donation of £5 can help parkrun unlock up to £600 of social benefits, making a massive difference to communities like yours across the country.

As part of my fundraising efforts i intend to do every parkrun in fancy dress until I hit my target!!!
