So many of us are touched by cancer at some time; personally, family member, friend or a work colleague. We all know someone. My dad had throat cancer when he died in 1989; but there was almost no treatment available for him then. 37 years later and the treatment options are many and varied, but still developing and needing lots more research to find out what works best. I've been able to visit the scientists conducting research in Liverpool University and I am excited to see what we can learn to help improve the treatments already being used.

I'm always happy to get fit, go training, lots of running and cycling and then compete in the London marathon, for the 28th time.
