My story

I contracted Prostate Cancer in 2016 and was told by the consultant that I had 3 choices: have radiotherapy, surgery to remove the cancerous prostate or do nothing. I asked, "what if I do nothing" to which the consultant replied, "you have aggressive prostate cancer, I give you 6 months and by then you will be in serious trouble". I then made the immediate decision to have my prostate removed. After the operation, it was discovered that the cancer had spread a little. I then had to undertake intensive radiotherapy for six weeks and then hormone treatment for two years.

I have now made a full recovery, and my grateful thanks go to my surgeon and the NHS staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

I have previously arranged fund raising events as well as PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) screening days and am now taking the challenge of a "Wing Walk" to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK
