Story
As many of my family & friends know, I am NOT very active, quite a bit overweight & exercise to me is walking to my summerhouse in the garden to get another beer.
I want to do something completely out of my comfort zone whilst raising money for Associated Telecom's chosen charity for 2025 - Children Today.
Many of you will know of my love for Leicester City Football Club, so after thinking long & hard about what I could do to raise money for this great cause, I have decided to walk to The Hawthorns (West Brom FC) from Associated Telecom for when Leicester play there on Friday 26th September 2025!
The walk itself is just under 30 miles, so for me will be very difficult. I also have a condition called plantar fasciitis, a very painful heel condition when standing for prolonged periods of time.
My son, Charlie, will also be taking part in the walk with me, as I'm sure others may do from Associated Telecom. Anybody i know are also more than welcome to join me on the walk - the more we can raise the better!
Whilst I am doing doing this challenge for self satisfaction, the main reason i'm doing it for is for the far less privileged children. See below:
Children Today are proud to help change the lives of children and young people with disabilities across the UK every day.
By providing grants for vital, specialised equipment to families in need, they aim to help give these children more independence and the best possible quality of life – from adapted trikes so they can ride a bike for the first time to a powered wheelchair so a young person can get around university easier.
LET'S DO THIS!!!
