Story
In early 2024 my Father was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.
In an instant everything changed, and my sister and I dropped everything to be with Dad and to care for him.
As Dad's condition worsened, he needed more care and we were able to secure some funding for Hospice care at home.
This is where Longfield came in, providing care at home 3 times a day, everyday. The care they gave was incredible; full of kindness, respect, dignity and laughter. Throughout Dad's illness we encountered some amazing people, but the team at Longfield were by far the best.
When we lost Dad in July 2024, they were still there supporting us. They care for everyone involved in possibly the hardest time of their lives.
In June I will be (hopefully) completing my first Ironman triathlon in Austria. Whilst I've done a few ultra marathons before, this will be a new challenge for me (especially the swim), and it feels like a good opportunity to raise a little money if possible.
An Ironman or full distance triathlon consists of a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike ride and then a 42.2km run (marathon) completed consecutively on a set course.
If you are willing to give even a small amount it would go to an amazing charity which supports people across Gloucestershire when they need it most, and I would be very grateful for the support.
Thanks,
Chris
