On Thursday 20th June, I will be taking part in a charity bike ride in aid of Dementia UK. My employer, Platform Housing Group has chosen Dementia UK as its corporate charity for 2024-25.

The cycle event is actually over 2 days covering 200 miles but my legs & lungs aren't up to that! Instead, I will be giving my all to cycle as far as I can in one day, setting off from our head office in Solihull & hopefully ending up somewhere near Worcester.

Most families have been touched by dementia. I know mine has. My wife's grandmother suffered terribly with Alzheimer's & my own grandfather was recently diagnosed with vascular dementia. It is such a cruel disease that robs people of their independence, relationships & who they are.

Dementia UK is a national charity that provides care & support to individuals & their families via their network of Admiral nurses. This service is provided free of charge so every donation received helps them to continue doing this amazing work.
