Story
I will be running 2 x Ultra Marathons in the coming months, to raise funds for a charity very close to my heart; MANTALK.
The charity was founded by 2 legends, Sean Henvey & Terry Comiskey to encourage men to get together and share their struggles with each other. To let them know that 'suicide is not the answer'. Having attended the group and seen the amazing and positive outcomes of this charity, is outstanding, and humbling in equal measures. The MANTALK message is 'suicide is not the answer' and i will do everything I can to raise awareness and spread that message as far and as wide as I can. We need to spread the message of how important it is to talk when you are feeling down & struggling. No matter how embarrassed or ashamed you may feel, you can be guaranteed that someone has or is going through the very same struggles that you are. you can help give one another the strength to pull through. Please dont let you mind trick you into thinking you are alone and that no one else has felt this way, because they have. Please reach out and talk to someone.
I know its a tough time to be asking for money but please any donation you can give will go directly to MANTALK, who run completely non-profit and the guys are there voluntarily. The good things this money can do is so meaningful and helps the group members immensely.
My 1st run will be; The John Muir Way 50k. On the 9th March. A nice costal run south of Edinburgh. Not too much incline. This will be a warm up for the next run...
My 2nd run will be: The TEC Brecons 50k. On 4th May. This will be up the famous Brecon Beacons in Wales, with a total elevation gain of around 8000ft.
You can follow my training on Strava & also the races themselves.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart in advance.
