On 14th August, I'll be swapping solid ground for the wing of an aeroplane as I take on a Wingwalk to raise money for Unmasked Mental Health.

Now, anyone who knows me will know I'm usually more comfortable with a pint in my hand than standing thousands of feet in the air attached to an aircraft! But when I was asked to support this incredible cause, I couldn't say no.

As the owner of Castleton Timber, I spend my days helping people build things. Through this challenge, I'm hoping to help build something even more important – access to mental health support for people who need it most.

I'm taking part in the Wingwalking for Wellbeing campaign to raise funds for The Access Fund, which helps provide free and subsidised counselling across Calderdale. Every donation helps ensure that when someone reaches out for support, cost isn't the reason they go without it.

Mental health affects families, friends, colleagues and communities. We never know what challenges someone may be facing behind closed doors, and having access to professional support can be life-changing.

I've got an amazing wife, Kim, cheering me on (and probably laughing at the thought of me standing on a plane wing!), but together we're proud to be supporting a cause that makes such a difference to local people.

So, if you'd like to see me leave my comfort zone and take to the skies, I'd be hugely grateful for your support.
