Story
We are running a Giant Jigsaw Challenge to raise funds for our library's new Community Area. We have set apart an area in the former IT corner of the library, for our groups such as Knit & Chat, Friday games, Ukulele and Reader's Group to sit in comfort. Regular customers will also be able to sit comfortably and read the paper in peace, without too much library traffic going past.
We hope to make this area welcoming and more cosy, we need some folding screens to make it quieter for our groups, and will also be working towards the Winter Warms Spaces #LibrariesForLife project. This will enable us to create a warm, safe space for people to relax in during cold days.
The challenge is to complete a 5,000 piece community puzzle by 30th September. Anyone is welcome to drop in and help with the puzzle during opening hours, why not join the fun?!
We are grateful for any donations and all funds go towards improving our library, a crucial service that vastly enriches our communities yet needs fundraising support to survive.
Libraries Unlimited's Vision is 'Enriching Lives, Building Communities'.
As the charity responsible for running 54 libraries across Devon and Torbay, we serve around 1 million people to:
- reduce literacy inequalities
- combat social inequality
- help develop skills for life
- combat isolation and support wellbeing
Every penny we raise goes back into developing our services.
