Children’s Holiday Venture is a student-run charity established in 1963, based in Edinburgh. We work with approximately 140 children. Our mission is to improve the children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence &social skills through free fortnightly activity evenings, day trips & residential camps.

Story

We are running a marathon relay on the 25th May as part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival to raise money and create awareness for CHV. This charity lies close to us, as all four of us have been supporting this charity, as well as two of us being day trip volunteers and a central part of the CHV committee.

Children’s Holiday Venture is a student-run charity established in 1963, based in Edinburgh. Their mission is to improve the children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence and social skills through free fortnightly activity evenings, day trips and residential camps.

They work with approximately 140 children between the ages of 8-18 in the areas of Edinburgh; Pilton, Sighthill and Niddrie. These children are referred by schools, social workers, GPs, and other supporting bodies who feel they would benefit from CHV’s activities in order to improve their wellbeing, confidence and social skills. Through these fortnightly activity evenings, the children have the opportunity to participate in activities that they would not be able to partake in otherwise. These range from trampolining, to swimming, games nights and scavenger hunts.

Any donations towards this cause would be greatly appreciated.
