Skydive

Wellcome Trust are teaming up with SolarAid to help reach the goal of lighting up every home, school and clinic by 2030, using clean, safe, renewable energy.

Story

Hello, my name is Preen and my colleagues Roel, Chiara and Sasha and I have decided to take part in a skydive for SolarAid in memory of my dad who passed away 3 years ago. He loved and dedicated a lot of his life doing charity work (and subscribing to all the ‘’save the *insert animal here*’ ) and so it made sense to do this in his memory. I hope it would have made him proud or at least worry about my life choices! Especially considering I’ve only just started not being scared to look down the glass lifts but here we gooo! 🪂

My workplace's charity of the year is SolarAid and they will match whatever I raise so please donate and share what you can!

SolarAid has a vision of a world where everyone has access to clean, renewable, energy.

590 million people across sub-Saharan Africa live without electricity. When the sun goes down the working day ends for millions of people. For millions of others the only option is to ignite kerosene lamps and paraffin candles, which emit toxic fumes into the earths atmosphere. But with the flick of a switch, we can change that story. Every solar light in someones hand is an instant win for people and the planet.
