Seancasey Quinn's fundraiser for Cancer Fund for Children

Belfast Marathon 2025 · 4 May 2025 ·
As you all know our gorgeous baby boy Seancasey was suddenly diagnosed with a brain tumour on the 18 October 2023. He underwent 9 hrs brain surgery on the 30 October in the Royal Children’s Hospital for Sick Children for removal of the tumour. Seancasey travelled to Manchester on the 01 January 2024 to The Christie Hospital, he received proton beam radiotherapy daily for 6 weeks on his brain and spine. He returned home on the 9 February 2024. His first chemotherapy treatment started on the 29 March 2024 in the Royal Children’s Hospital (Haematology Ward). Seancasey received 8 cycles of chemo which finally ended on the 13 November 2024.
Throughout this heavy medical treatment programme Seancasey has remained extremely strong, determined and never once has given up no matter how difficult and hard some days were for him through sickness and fatigue. He still tried to smile through it all and always showed up for what he had to do.
Cancer fund for children has been been involved with Seancasey and us as a family since his diagnosis and their care as a charity have been invaluable to us. At any point our link officer for the charity was only a phone call away and home visits for support for Seancasey and us was never a problem.
Cancer fund for children offer so much to children, young people and families who have been impacted by cancer and we are so grateful for everything they have done for us. We would like to give something back to this charity to enable them to help others in a similar situation to ourselves.
We are planning to take part in the Belfast Marathon 5K Team Relay, we have several teams entered and also have teams organised for the 8 mile walk. All donations are very welcome and everything raised from this event will go to Cancer Fund for Children Charity.
