Cindy Sevell is raising money for Glam-A-Thon Inc

2025 Glammy Honorees · 11 September 2025

Glam-A-THON™ is a breast cancer charity raising money for women not research with style, sass, and fabulous heels as we KISS BREAST CANCER GOODBYE. Glam-A-THON™ proceeds will be directed to local breast cancer patients and their families seeking counseling through Gilda’s Club South Florida.

Story

Cindy Sevell is a breast cancer survivor, author, advocate, and proud single mom to two amazing adult children, ages 22 and 25. In May 2015, her world changed with a breast cancer diagnosis that led to nine major surgeries, including a double mastectomy. Cancer took a lot—her breasts, her business, family ties, financial stability—but it also gave her a new outlook on life.

With grit, grace, and a bold sense of humor still intact, Cindy turned her pain into purpose. She wrote and self-published "It Is What It F’ing Is", the first in a series of three books. The raw, unfiltered memoir chronicles her breast cancer journey with brutal honesty, laugh-out-loud moments, and deeply moving insight. Her story resonates with thousands of warriors, survivors, and loved ones, offering both hope and healing.

Cindy took her message on the road, speaking at support groups, fundraisers, college campuses, senior centers, schools, and even late-night phone calls to strangers in need. She believes that by sharing your story, you help others heal—and she’s lived that truth every day.

Her journey inspired the creation of her own internet talk show, "It Is What It Is with Cindy Sevell," filmed in Long Island. The show gave other survivors a platform to share their powerful stories and connect with others navigating life after cancer.

She also co-hosts the "It Is What It F’ing Is Breast Cancer Poker Run” each year in Connecticut with The Law Dogs Motorcycle Club, a group of law enforcement officers and supporters. Now in its 4th year, the event raises critical funds and awareness for breast cancer causes. And yes—after her diagnosis, Cindy learned to ride and proudly owned two Harleys.

Today, Cindy lives in Boynton Beach, Florida, with her daughter and beloved pets. She’s deeply connected to her local community and thrilled to support Glam-A-THON and Gilda’s Club South Florida through the 2025 Lipstick Lounge. Being honored as a Glammy is a full-circle moment—proof that even in the face of loss, you can rise, thrive, and give back with heart.
